Working Holiday Rule

A recent attempt by the Home Office to outlaw "Third Party Support" in Working Holiday Maker applications has been successfully resisted by Alam Ahmed in the leading case of MH (Working Holiday Maker: Intention to support) Bangladesh [2008] UKAIT00039.

As a result of this important decision, it is now acceptable for a friend or relative to offer maintenance and or accommodation as long as the Working Holiday Maker can support himself if the promised help is not forthcoming.
